Local history records that the Kelecung Village Temple was established by the ancestors as a symbol of protection and a spiritual center for the community. Initially, the temple was a simple structure built from bamboo and wood. The first ceremony held aimed to ask the earth guardian deity for safety and continuous prosperity of the village.

Over time, the community took the initiative to build a larger and sturdier temple after experiencing several natural events regarded as tests from the gods. Worship traditions at the temple became the main foundation of life order and customs that have been preserved and developed to this day.
